His career has been built from the ground up—beginning with firefighter training, then experience as evidence technician while assisting with scene examination, and ultimately advancing into a lead fire investigator, which has included investigations of residential fires, motor vehicle fires and complex large losses. That depth of hands-on experience gives Josh a unique understanding of the entire investigative process, **from the condition of the scene and preservation of physical evidence to the analysis, documentation, and communication of defensible findings.** [Hire Josh Plummer](https://www.plumefire.com/request-investigation?hsLang=en) ## **A Career Dedicated to Fire Investigation** Josh began his career in the fire industry in **2007**, attending the Fire Academy in Hamilton, Ohio, where he earned his Firefighter I and Firefighter II designations. In 2008, while attending Eastern Kentucky University, Josh began working in the fire investigation field as an evidence and field technician. His responsibilities included assisting with evidence collection at loss sites, managing evidence storage facilities, and working alongside experienced investigators at fire and explosion scenes. After earning his **Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science Engineering in 2011**, Josh continued developing his technical expertise and earned professional certifications in fire and explosion investigation. By 2013, after participating in hundreds of fire and explosion scene investigations, he advanced to conducting origin and cause investigations throughout the United States and subsequently attained the **Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI)** designation through the International Association of Arson Investigators. His career eventually progressed beyond individual investigations into operational leadership. In 2023, Josh became a **Senior Fire Consultant and Field Operations Manager**, supervising specialized fire consultants conducting investigations across the United States and abroad.
